These Terms and Conditions apply to appointments and services provided by Tameside Physio. By booking an appointment with Tameside Physio, you agree to the following terms.
Consent & Medical Information
Clients will be asked to complete a medical consent form at their first appointment. Where required, clients may also be asked to complete this via Cliniko, our secure practice management system, prior to their appointment.
It is important that all information provided is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. Certain medical conditions, medications or recent procedures may affect whether a particular treatment can safely or appropriately be provided.
Depending on the treatment being booked and the information provided, your therapist may need to discuss your medical history with you before proceeding. In some circumstances, you may be advised to obtain further medical advice or appropriate confirmation from your GP or another healthcare professional before treatment can take place.
Changes to Your Medical Condition
It is your responsibility to inform Tameside Physio of any significant changes to your health, medical conditions, medication, pregnancy status, recent surgery, injury or other information that may affect your treatment.
Please notify us as soon as possible and, wherever possible, before the applicable cancellation period.
If a relevant change is disclosed within the cancellation period or upon arrival for your appointment and means that the booked treatment cannot safely or appropriately proceed, the relevant cancellation fee will apply.
Your therapist retains the right to modify, postpone or decline treatment where they consider this necessary for your safety or where treatment is not clinically appropriate.
Consent to Treatment
Your therapist will explain the proposed assessment or treatment and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions.
Consent is an ongoing process. You may withdraw your consent or ask for treatment to stop at any time.
Where appropriate, your therapist may recommend an alternative treatment, onward referral or medical review if they believe this is in your best interests.
Tameside Physio does not guarantee a particular outcome from assessment or treatment. Individual responses to physiotherapy, massage and other treatments vary according to many factors.
Appointment Times & Late Arrival
Appointments are allocated a specific amount of time. Each session will last for the duration booked and we cannot guarantee that an appointment can be extended. Any extension of an appointment will incur further cost, to be paid on the same day.
Please arrive or be ready to begin your appointment at the scheduled time.
If you arrive late, your appointment may need to be shortened so that subsequent clients are not affected. The full appointment fee will remain payable.
If you are significantly late and there is insufficient time to safely or appropriately provide the booked service, the appointment will be treated as a late cancellation or missed appointment.
Bookings & Cancellations
We understand that circumstances can change. However, appointment times are reserved specifically for each client and adequate notice is required if you need to cancel or rearrange.
More than 48 hours’ notice:
Appointments may be cancelled or rearranged without a cancellation charge. Please note refunds via Stripe can take up to 10 working days. This is enforced by Stripe and Tameside Physio is unable to expedite this.
Less than 48 hours’ notice:
A 50% deposit fee for the appointment will be retained. Refund of 50% of the booking fee can be applied to a subsequent appointment, or be refunded via Stripe. The above conditions apply.
Less than 24 hours’ notice or failure to attend:
The full appointment fee will be payable/retained.
Cancellations should be made by telephone or text message to Tameside Physio. Please do not rely on social media messages to cancel an appointment.
Where Cliniko provides an online cancellation or rescheduling facility and this is available for your appointment, cancellations made successfully through the booking system will also be accepted.
Failure to attend an appointment without notification will be treated as a missed appointment and the full appointment fee will be payable.
We reserve the right to request full payment in advance for future appointments following repeated late cancellations or missed appointments.
Block Bookings & Prepaid Sessions
Where appointments are purchased as part of a block or package, the specific terms applicable to that package will apply.
Where possible, a cancelled session forming part of a block booking should be rearranged within the same week, subject to therapist availability.
The standard cancellation policy continues to apply to appointments booked using prepaid sessions unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.
Services that have been prepaid will be honoured at the price paid, subject to any expiry date or other conditions stated when the package or service was purchased.
Payments
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is required in advance of the appointment.
Payment methods available may include online payment or bank transfer, as advised by Tameside Physio.
Bank transfer payments do not incur an additional charge.
Where an outstanding balance remains following an appointment, cancellation or missed appointment, Tameside Physio reserves the right to request payment before any further appointments are booked.
Cancellation by Tameside Physio
Occasionally, circumstances outside our control may require us to cancel or rearrange an appointment.
If Tameside Physio cancels your appointment, any payment made for that appointment will either be transferred to a rearranged appointment, held as a credit or refunded as appropriate.
Tameside Physio will not charge a cancellation fee where the clinic or therapist has cancelled the appointment.
Prices
Prices for services provided at Tameside Physio are subject to change.
The price applicable at the time of booking will normally apply to that appointment unless otherwise stated.
Where a service has already been paid for in full before a price increase, the prepaid service will be honoured at the price paid, subject to any applicable expiry date or package conditions.
Clinical Outcomes
Treatment outcomes vary between individuals and depend upon a range of factors including the nature and duration of the condition, medical history, adherence to advice and rehabilitation, and individual response to treatment.
Tameside Physio and its practitioners cannot guarantee a particular result, recovery time or outcome from any treatment.
Privacy, Confidentiality & Clinical Records
Tameside Physio collects and processes personal and health information where necessary to provide healthcare and related services.
Information provided to Tameside Physio will be handled confidentially and in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.
Clinical information may be recorded and stored securely within Cliniko and/or other appropriate secure systems used by the clinic.
Information will not ordinarily be disclosed to third parties without your consent. There may, however, be circumstances where information can or must be disclosed without consent, including where required by law or where there is a serious safeguarding or safety concern.
Where appropriate and with the necessary authority or consent, information may also be shared with other healthcare professionals, insurers, solicitors or organisations involved in your care.
Communication
By providing your telephone number and/or email address, you acknowledge that Tameside Physio may use these details for legitimate communications relating to your care and appointments. This may include appointment confirmations, reminders, forms, receipts and relevant information concerning your treatment.
Appointment reminders are provided as a courtesy. Failure to receive a reminder does not remove the client’s responsibility for attending or cancelling an appointment within the required cancellation period.
Marketing communications will only be sent where permitted and you may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Children & Young People
Clients under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or person with parental responsibility.
Consent requirements will be considered according to the young person’s age, understanding and the nature of the proposed assessment or treatment.
Respectful Behaviour & Right to Refuse Treatment
Tameside Physio is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for clients, practitioners and staff.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, sexually inappropriate or otherwise unacceptable behaviour towards staff, practitioners or other clients will not be tolerated.
Tameside Physio reserves the right to refuse or discontinue treatment where a practitioner considers treatment unsafe or clinically inappropriate, where professional boundaries have been breached, or where behaviour presents a risk to staff, practitioners or other clients.
Changes to These Terms
Tameside Physio may update these Terms and Conditions periodically to reflect changes to our services, systems, policies or legal and professional requirements.
The most recent version of the Terms and Conditions will apply to new bookings from the date on which the updated terms take effect.
